PARKING BLITZ
A parking space awareness campaign was held on Friday, August 20th and Saturday, August 21st from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.at Costco and Superstore in Nanaimo. Access Nanaimo Committee members and Nanaimo and Region Disability Resource Centre volunteers teamed up with City of Nanaimo Leaders in Training volunteers to distribute rack cards to customers encouraging appropriate and responsible use of parking spaces designated for those with disabilities.
Thank you to Costco and Superstore for allowing us to undergo this campaign and to the City of Nanaimo for providing volunteers to assist with distribution of the rack cards.
Plans are underway to have a booth at Woodgrove Mall during the pre-Christmas shopping season to continue the campaign.
