Access Nanaimo
Access Nanaimo is an initiative to help make Nanaimo more accessible and inclusive for those with disabilities – be they physical, auditory, verbal or related to aging.
The Access Nanaimo Committee is a group of dedicated individuals that endeavour to educate, inform and sensitize local government, the business community, and the public about the issues of accessibility and inclusion.
We hope that you find the website interesting and informative.
Thank you to the City of Nanaimo and the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre for working with us to designate van-accessible parking in front of and adjacent to the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre.
Special thanks to Recreation and Culture Manager Bob Kuhn, Manager of Aquatics Sandy Raddysh and Councillor Fred Pattje for this living legacy in memory of former Access Nanaimo Committee member, Norm Hemstreet.
